Overview
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or Photorejuvenation, is an exciting advancement in repairing skin imperfections such as sun damage, birthmarks, liver spots, age lines, unwanted hair, unsightly veins, and broken capillaries. This non-invasive procedure uses high-intensity light pulses customized to your skin type and condition to reverse skin damage and blemishes. Immediately after treatment, your skin will appear pinkish which can be covered with makeup. A warm sensation, as associated with sun exposure may also occur. Pigment on the skin will temporarily darken, and you may see what looks like coffee grounds on the surface. But this will fade within 4-6 days, leaving your skin smooth and beautiful. Typically we treat the entire face with up to 2 passes per session to ensure natural, uniform results. There can be some discomfort, but we use a topical numbing cream before treatment to minimize any discomfort or irritation. One of the many advantages of IPL is the ability to return to work and resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Intense Pulsed Light is also effective in repairing damaged skin on the neck, chest, and hands.
